God called His angels out to go and visit William E. Garrett of 629 Waverly Village Apartments in Waverly, Virginia on October 16, 2020.  The Angel of death came and William gave a great sign and said good-bye.

William E. Garrett was born September 21, 1950, to the late Percy and Rosa B. Garrett of Waverly, VA.  He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charles H. Garrett, Ronnie Garrett ad Percy Garrett III and one sister, Evangelist Doris Boyd of Waverly, VA.

William attended Annie B. Jackson for a few years.  He left Waverly and move to North Carolina and stayed there for a large portion of his life.  William later returned to Waverly and was employed in Williamsburg Motel for several years in housekeeping, later he was employed at Waverly Healthcare until his health declined.  He loved telling jokes and making people laugh.  He was a member of Saint Paul Holiness Church of Waverly, VA under the leadership of Elder Willie Thomas.

William leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Susie Thomas and Rosa Garrett both of Waverly; one brother, Larry (Telena) Garrett; one godson, Khalil Jones; three aunts, Mammie Turner, Lucy Thomas, and Addie Parham all of Waverly; one uncle, David (Virginia) Bolling of Waverly.  A host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews family, and friends.  Very close loving friends, Gary "Dick" Flowers, Annie "Terrance Mama" Westbrook, and Mary "TinaBaby" Allen.  We will give our special thanks to our cousin and caregiver Audrey Baines and Rena Williams for looking out for William.
