Mr. Waverly "Rat" Brown Sr, 1012 West Main Street, Waverly, VA was called home on July 16, 2003 at his residence in Waverly, VA. He was born February 28, 1916, to the late Rosa and Emmit Brown.
He was a member of Piney Grove AME Zion Church, Waverly, VA and served on the Trustee Board.He worked faithfully over forty years for the Department of Highway where he retired.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary G. Brown and son James Brown Sr.

Waverly is survived by a devote wife, Edna Brown of Waverly, three children, Albert Brown(Margie), Waverly Brown Jr, Mary R.Brown all of Waverly, Va; one daughter Mae; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service 1:00pm, Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Peace Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at First Baptist Church Cementery, Waverly, VA.
