Mr. Walter A. Jackson (73), of Waverly, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 1, 2021. He was born to the late Warren Sr. and Ruth Louise Jackson. He was a native of Sussex County and He attended Sussex County Training School. He was employed by Masonite International Paper in Waverly, Virginia for over 30 years. After the business shut down, he then went on to work for TubeCity IMS, LLC in Dinwiddie, Virginia.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Mrs. Alfreda Laverne Jackson; three brothers James Jackson, Paul Jackson (Daisy), and Elmo Jackson; four sisters Anna Jones (Jimmy), Charlotte Fields (Willie Sr.) Lena Baines (Richard Sr.) and Mary Prince Brooks; one sister-in-law Annie E. Jackson; five nephews Willie Fields, Jr., Herman Lee Jackson, Warren Taylor, Richard Baines Jr., and Randy Fields; three nieces Kathleen Fields, Arlene Brooks, and Justine Turner.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his five sons, Leonard Jackson (Barbara) Waverly, VA., Marcus Williams (Chemae) Macon, GA., James Williams (Trina) Zuni, VA., Maurice Williams (Hope) Waverly, VA., Cordary Williams (Trease), Williamsburg, VA.; one sister Alice Butts (Richard) of Waverly, VA.; one brother Warren Jackson Jr. (Peter) of Waverly, VA.; five brothers-in-law, James Brooks Sr. of Waverly, VA., Eddie Perry Silver Spring, MD., Clifton Perry Waverly, VA., Carlton N. Perry Sr. (Arlene) Waverly, VA, and Paul Jackson Jr. Waverly, VA.; one devoted cousin Mary Shaw; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Walter was well-known throughout the town of Waverly. He fellowshipped at Empowerment Temple in Waverly, Virginia under the leadership of Pastor Terrance Green and First Lady Tanisha Green, where he enjoyed praising the Lord. He enjoyed football and his favorite team was the Washington Redskins. On Sundays during football season, you could catch him in his favorite athletic wear by the Washington Redskins. He was a cool dude and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00pm Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Empowerment Temple 219 N. County Drive, Waverly, Virginia.
