Wallace Nathaniel Bailey Jr. was born on February 9, 1955.  He was born in Newport News, Virginia to Catherine Shirley Robinson and Wallace N. Bailey Sr.

He went to TC Irwin and Dunbar Elementary Schools in Newport News, Virginia; Thorpe Junior High School in Hampton, Virginia and Lindsey Junior High in Hampton, Virginia.  He graduated from Hampton High School in 1973. For a brief period he attended Thomas Nelson Jr. College.

He started his career working at Jolly Ox and moved on to the Steak & Ale.  He was also employed by Holiday Inn.  He was presented with the opportunity to be a manager at the Juzar Bay Resort in Saint Thomas.  Well of course he jumped on this opportunity. He moved from Saint Thomas to Atlanta. His last position was suite manager at Phillips Arena before retiring on disability.

Wallace met a host of friends in all of his positions and travels. Of course, which are too many to name.

Wallace was a very kind-hearted, jubilant, jolly and talkative person.  He could talk for hours with you. He stayed in contact with his classmates.

His favorite singer was Nancy Wilson of the Supremes. He loved her. He was an Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins (Commanders) fan and he had their gear. He kept up with the HBCU schools also.

Wallace passed into eternity to be with our Lord and Savior on July 10, 2025 at Emory University Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine Shirley Robinson, mother and Wallace N. Bailey Sr., father.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Kathy P.B. Masters of Anna, TX; two brothers, Harris D. Bailey of Sarasota, FL and Spencer M. Bailey of Knoxville, TN; brother-in-law, Terry S. Masters of Anna, TX; sister-in-law, Marta L. Bailey of Sarasota, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, and Aunt Alvenia.

Public Viewing will be 9:00am - 11:00am Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Peace Funeral Home, Waverly, Virginia.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00am on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Peace Funeral Home Chapel, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia, Rev. Willie Thomas, Eulogist.  Interment will follow at Bailey Family Cemetery, Waverly, Virginia
