Mother Vernice Hamlin departed her life on Saturday, December 30, 2023,  she was the daughter of the late Frampton and Hannah Busby, born in Lena, South Carolina on June 8, 1934.

At an early age, she gave her life to Christ at Thankful Fillybranch Baptist Church.  Later, after graduating from Estill Training School, she moved away and continued her worship in Patterson, New Jersey where she attended Solid Rock Baptist Church.

She met and married Monroe Hamlin and moved to Dendron, Virginia.  She attended First Baptist Church in Dendron for several years before joining Saint Paul Holiness Church, where she served faithfully for over thirty-five years.

She was a Devoted, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Monroe Hamlin, her parents, Frampton and Hannah Busby, five brothers, John Allen Busby, Franklin Busby, Author Lee Busby, William Busby, Matthew Busby, one sister Elouise Farmer and three sisters-in-law, Daisy Busby, Mattie Lee Busby, and Corine Busby.

Sister Vernice Hamlin leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Adam and Mark(Lamont); one daughter, Gloristine; two grandsons, Mark Jr. and Xaiervier; her siblings, her brother, LH Busby (Jeanie); her sister Clara Gonzales; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Also, to treasure her memories are two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Earlene (Reverand Coy) Brandy of Furman, South Carolina, and Mrs. Ingram Busby.

Mother Hamlin loved traveling and took trips all over the United States, Alaska, and Canada to name a few.  She became an accomplished camper.

Public Viewing will be 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Saint  Paul's Holiness Church 8645 Rolfe HighwayDendron, Virginia 23839.

A Celebration of Life Well Lived will be 11:00 am Monday, January 8, 2024, at Saint Paul's Holiness Church 8645 Rolfe Highway, Dendron, Virginia, Elder Welton E. Blount, Pastor and Eulogist.  Interment will follow immediately a Union Hill United Church, Sedley, Virginia.
