On Saturday, June 13, 2015, in the wee hours of the morning, God saw fit to call our beloved mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Thelia Louise Stringfield, home to rest.

Thelia Louise Stringfield was born December 16, 1944 in Surry County, VA to the late Harry Jones, Sr. (Deceased February 1981) and Syvilla Crocker-Jones (Deceased October 1993).

She worked for 36 years as an Education Technician in the Department of Army Logistics Management College and lived in Sussex County, VA most of her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star OES 37 Pride of Wakefield, VA, she served on the Wakefield Town Council for several years and was an active and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Wakefield, VA where she worked as the Financial Secretary for many years.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry "Bubba" Jones, Jr. (Deceased February 1998); sister, Edna Johnson (Deceased March 2007); and son, Ernest Stringfield, Jr.

Cherishing great memories are her devoted children: Eric Stringfield (Faye) of Suffolk, VA and Edwin "TJ" Stringfield (Ron) of Key West, FL; granddaughter, Ravynn Stringfield of Suffolk, VA; sisters, Rosella Purcell of Capitol Heights, MD and Helen Clary of Wakefield, VA; nieces and nephews; Donald Johnson (Linda), Terry Parker, Donna Johnson, Edwina Johnson, Will Purcell, Lisa Purcell, Wilma Purcell, Sylvia Whitfield, Kevin Jones and Keith Jones, as well as a devote friend Mr. John Redding. She also leaves a host of cousins, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, neighbors and friends.

Viewing for Ms. Stringfield will be 12:00am to 6:00pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Peace Funeral Home, Waverly, VA.

Funeral Services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2015 at First Baptist church, Wakefield, VA, Rev. Jerry Parham, Pastor. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor, VA
