In the late evening of December 6, 2022, God said enough is enough to his manservant.  God dispatched an angel to bring him eternal rest.

Samuel had many jobs however he was well known as the baddest barber in Wakefield, Virginia.  His pride and joy were his friends and family whether sitting on the porch catching a breeze or giving his friend William Lawrence a good ole fashion whipping on the checkerboard.

He was born May 11, 1929, in Wakefield, Virginia to Samuel L. Brown and Gertha Lee Jones Brown.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gertha Lee Brown,  father Samuel L. Brown Sr, and sister Virginia Crocker.

Left to Cherish his memories are his daughter, Brendolyn Williams (Alphonso) of Newport News, VA; three granddaughters, Tomika Price, and Tiffany Williams both of Newport News, VA, and Pinky Brown (Ricky) of Wakefield, VA; four grandsons, Tim Price, Nathan Williams both of Newport News, VA, Ryan Greene (Yasmin) of Hampton, VA, and Andre Golden; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two special nieces, Ruby Allen of Wakefield, VA and Ernestine Brock of Surry, VA.

Public viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Friday, December 16, 2022, at Peace Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia 23890.

A Celebration of Life will be 12Noon Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Mars Hill AME Zion Church 401 Main Street, Wakefield, Virginia 23888, Rev Otis Grant, Pastor.  Interment will follow at Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield, Virginia.
