Royal H. Conner 88 entered eternal peace on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Waverly Nursing Facility in Waverly, Virginia. Roy was born in Surry County, Virginia on June 30, 1936, to the late George and Susie Stringfield.

Roy loved listening to music and singing.  He was employed at Cheatham Annex for 36 years and he also worked at Fort Eustis in the Laundry Department.

Roy was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl (James), Annie (Percell), Geneva (Kaiser), and Joan (Ernest); three brothers, McKinley, George, and David.

Roy leaves to  cherish his memories, his beloved Brother, Stanley Conner (Jerlene) of Wakefield, Virginia, and a favorite nephew, Anthony Tony Evans; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann Conner and Barbara Conner. Roy also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a devoted sister-in-law and caretaker Jerlene.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 12Noon Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Oak Grove Baptist Church 38070 Rocky Hock Road, Wakefield, Virginia, Elder Harold Pretlow, eulogist. Interment will follow at Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield, Virginia.
