Obituary

Remembrance is a token of love that comes from the heart. God has all power in His Hand. God's love is everlasting.

On Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, God said it was time for Ronnie to rest and come home. Ronnie had been on a long fight but he always knew the battle was the Lord's. He was always concerned about his family and their well being. He was the son of the late Percy and Rosa Garrett. He is preceded in death by one brother, Charles H. Garrett. Ronnie was born May 23, 1960, and attended Annie B. Jackson School. He had a love for trucks and grass mowers.Ronnie liked cutting grass and pushing his wagon with metal and etc.

He leaves to cherish his blessed memories his three sisters, Susie Thomas (Vincent), Doris and Rosa, all of Waverly; three brothers, William, Larry (Telena) and Percy, all of Waverly; six aunts, Lula Mae Thomas, Lucy Whittaker of Petersburg, and Carrie B. Dennis, Mamie Turner, Addie Parham (Oscar) and Helen Garrett, all of Waverly; one uncle, David Bolling (Virginia); six nieces, Lisa (Dan), Catina, LaToya (Marcell), Demitries and Tyshonna, all of Waverly, and Donna Garrett of Hopewell, Va.; two nephews, Eric (Sandy), Larry Jr. of Colonial Heights, Va.; 17 great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and a host of loving cousins and caring friends, among them Francis Dowling of Petersburg, and Ernest L. Turner, Joseph Turner, Douglas Bailey and Antwain Lawrence and Ann Beals, all of Waverly.

A visitation for Mr. Garrett will be from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Peace-Bland Funeral Home, Waverly, Va., and one hour prior to service at Lilly of the Valley Deliverance Center, Waverly, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Lilly of the Valley, Waverly, Va., Bishop Marvin Drew officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 111 Coppahaunk Ave., Waverly, Va., on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Va.
