Massenburg
June 17, 1941 – January 26, 2019
Robert Lee Massenburg, affectionately known as "Massenburg" and "Mash Potatoes" of Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center, answered the Master's call January 26, 2019. Massenburg was born on June 17, 1941, in Sussex County, Virginia. In his early life, he was a member of Easter Baptist Church, Homeville, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse T and Eugene P. Massenburg, a brother, Percy J. Massenburg and brother-in-law Charles H. Bailey Jr.
He was a former employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation and Peace Funeral Home.
Left to cherish his memories, a daughter Edith D. Key (Jerome) of Waverly, VA; a devoted sister, Eunice M. Bailey of Waverly, VA; grandson, Lamere A. Blackwell of Waverly, VA; a niece, Melissa B. Saunders (Reese) of North Dinwiddie, VA; nephews, Ret. Col. Calvin Bailey of Dallas, TX, Charles H. Bailey III (Sharon) of Chesterfield, VA, Martin L. Bailey of Waverly, VA, and Jesse Fields of Philadelphia, PA and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special Thank You to Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
