Ralph Parker, born July 5, 1949, quietly departed this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA.  He was born in Surry County, VA and was educated in the Surry County Public School System.  He worked 34 years as a truck driver, which he thoroughly enjoyed.  He also enjoyed watching television, especially The Westerns, eating his wife's home cooking and spending time with family and friends.  You could also catch him cruising to his favorite place, The Dollar General Store.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ned A. Parker and Myrtle Artis Parker; sister Velma P. Parham and brother-in-law, Waverly Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 43 years, Seline Parker; son, Antoine Vaughan, Sr. (Schvon); two grandchildren, Antoine Vaughan Jr. and Zhane' Vaughan all of Waverly, VA; one brother, Leon Parker of Smithfield VA; three sisters, Maria Evans of Hampton, VA, Anne Thompson of Smithfield ,VA and Sarah Artis (Lawrence) of Chesapeake VA; three brothers-in-law, Johnni Wiggins of Waverly, VA, Ollie Riddick of Petersburg, VA and Edwin Riddick(Connie) of Richmond, VA; one sister-in-law, Ann McCoy of Monticello, NY.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Working as a truck driver, his very tall stature, gentle smile and the nod of his head when he greeted you are just a few ways he will be remembered.  Ralph, we are "Really going to Miss You!"

Celebration of Life for Mr. Parker will be 12 Noon, Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Empowerment Temple, 219 County Drive, Waverly, VA, Elder Terrence Green, Pastor.  Interment will follow at Waverly Cemetery.
