Phillip Murphy Jr.,  of Waverly, Virginia, departed this life on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was born on February 5, 1965, to the late Phillip Sr. and Ora Jones Murphy.

He enjoyed socializing with friends, fishing, painting, picking pecans and watching his favorite team, "The New England Patriots." He will be deeply missed by his family, the community and friends.

He is survived by his life partner, Cindy Moore; one brother, Jerry W. Murphy Sr. (Sheila); three sisters, Ora Lee Baines (Bobby Lynn Sr.), Janice E. Turner (Leroy), both of Waverly, Virginia, Yvonne Jones of Baltimore, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Ann Marie of Hopewell, Virginia; one uncle, Willie Jones Sr. (Margie) of Waverly, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00pm, Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Lily of the Valley Deliverance Center 411 Oak Street, Waverly, Virginia, Bishop Marvin Drew Sr., Pastor.  Interment will follow at Waverly Cemetery, Spring Branch Road, Waverly, Virginia.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Friday, November 21, 2025 at Peace Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia.
