Obituary

Mr. Percy Garrett III of 214 Coppahaunk Avenue, Waverly, Virginia departed this life Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 6:35 a.m. at Waverly Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Percy was born January 5, 1962, to the late Percy and Rosa B. Garrett of Waverly, Virginia.  He is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles H. Garrett and Ronnie Garrett and one sister, Evangelist Doris Boyd of Waverly.

Percy was nicknamed, "Doctor Moby" and was better known as "Squeaky".  He was well known for doing his dance the Moby and calling himself the doctor.  He attended Annie B. Jackson School for a few years.  He had his first job at an early age employed with the Late Theodore Williams doing Grave Services at Waverly Cemetery.  Later he began doing Lawn Care throughout the community until his health began to fail.  He loved fishing and making people laugh. Percy attended Lily of the Valley Deliverance Center in Waverly.

Squeaky leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Susie (Vincent) and Rosa both of Waverly; two brothers, William and Larry (Telena); three aunts, Mammie Turner, Lucy Thomas, and Addie Parham all of Waverly; one uncle, David (Virginia) Bolling of Waverly.  A host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, family, and friends.  A devoted caregiver, Diane Smith.

**All appropriate "Social Distancing" practices will be fully enforced throughout the duration of the Graveside Service.**
