Mrs. Sarah Mae Barnes Smith, 89, 210 Dogwood Street, Waverly, VA departed her life at home Monday, March 7, 2016. She was born March 20, 1926, to the Late Della Ricks and Johnny Spratley. Sarah was a member of First Baptist Church, Waverly, VA, also a Deaconess, pianist and a past member of the Senior choir. Sarah loved her family, friends and would do anything to help anybody, but most important she loved the Lord.

Mrs. Sarah Mae Barnes Smith is survived by two sons, James Barnes (Lula Barnes), Darnell Winfield (Emma Harris); two step-sons, Charles Smith and Larry Wilkins; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Mrs. Barnes Smith will be Saturday, March 12, 2016, 1:00pm at First Baptist church Waverly, VA, Rev. Taylor, Pastor, Rev. Curtis Clanton, eulogizing. Interment will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
