Michael Winfield (affectionately known as Lujack, Pretty Lu, or Lucky)54 of Petersburg, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his residence.

Michael graduated from Sussex Central High School Class of 1988. He was employed at XPO Logistics as a forklift operator until his health declined.

Michael was a diehard Cowboys fan, he always enjoyed having a good time. If you ever were on 35 and visited "The Park" then you know.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Maude Tyler(Frank); Uncles Charles, Alton Winfield, and Robert Claiborne; Father Maurice Hamlin, Paternal grandparents Howard and Evelyn Murphy.

Michael is survived by his devoted mother Shirley W. Davis of Disputanta, VA,  two sisters MaKeshia Winfield of South Chesterfield, VA and Ja'Toya Winfield of North Dinwiddie; daughter Ni'Yonna Shaw of Colonial Heights, VA; aunts Barbara Claiborne of Waverly, VA and Margarita Winfield of Tennessee; Uncle Jessie Winfield(Cheryl) of Waverly, VA; Nephew DeMarion Winfield of South Chesterfield, VA; Niece Jakyiah McClendon of South Chesterfield, VA. Numerous family and friends. Devoted friends Darryl  Barnes of Petersburg, VA and Gerald Winfield Petersburg, VA.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:30 pm at Waverly Cemetery, Spring Branch Road, Waverly, Virginia, Rev. Linda Skipper, eulogist.
