Mr. McCoy Baines, 64, of 301 New Street, Waverly, Va., was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Southside Regional Center, Petersburg, Va.
McCoy was born on April 12, 1952, to the late Willie Mae Baines Brown and the late Clifton Wilkins.
McCoy was a truck driver before he retired and loved his job. He was a kind hearted man and didn't mind helping others at anytime he was asked. He didn't care where he was or who you were he would playfully tease and joke with you.
He belonged to Rising Star Deliverance Center in Waverly, Va., where he was baptized and gave his Life to Christ.
McCoy was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Brian M. Brown; his sisters, Tina N. Baines and Tameka Wilkins; and his grandmother, Katie Baines.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, LaJuan Baines of 40 years; one daughter, Kimberly R. Baines of Waverly, Va.; two sons, McCoy L. Baines (Cynthia) of Waverly, Va., Brian L. Baines (Tanisha) of Yorktown, Va.; five grandchildren, Tavion Baines, Tirey Baines, McKayla Baines and Brianna Baines, all of Waverly, Va., and Brendon Baines of Yorktown, Va.; one sister, Lia Wilkins of Hopewell, Va.; father-in-law, Gurlie Young Jr. of Washington, DC; three brother-in-laws, Keith Young (Rebecca), Edward Young, both of Maryland, and Gregory Young of Washington, DC; one sister-in-law, Faye A. Young of Hopewell, Va. McCoy leaves a number of devoted nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Baines will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016, at Rose of Sharon Apostolic Church, 429 Elm Street, Waverly, Va., Bishop Tyrone Harper, pastor; Rev. Eddie Boyd, eulogizing. Interment will follow at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Va.
