Mary Lee Cofield Burt, 72, 301 Webb Street, Suffolk, VA entered eternal rest February 23, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mary was born on April 18, 1943 in Suffolk, VA to the Late Minnie Cofield and Johnny Whitaker.

She attended school in Nansemond County. Mary worked at Birdsong Peanut Factory for many years, and also pursuing her GED.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lucille Burke Cofield and Wilber Cofield Sr; her parents; mother Minnie Cofield and father Johnny Whitker; one uncle, Wilbert Cofield Jr. (Magaline); one aunt Rosie T. Holley(Alfred).

She leaves to cherish her memories husband, Daniel Lee Burt of Suffolk, VA; one step-son, Mack Berry; one uncle, Winther Cofield (Margaret) of Edenton, NC; one aunt, Charlotte Cooper (Sam) of Virginia Beach, VA; two sister-in-law's, Mary Drew (Robert), Maggie Stewart (Charlie) of Spring Grove, VA; three granddaughters; one grandson; a host of nieces and nephews and a Special Aunt, Charlotte Cooper.

Funeral services for Mrs. Burt will be 12:00pm Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Peace Funeral Home Chapel, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, VA, Pastor Pealy Cofield, Eulogizing. Interment. Repast will be at the home of Mrs. Mary Rollack, 111 Woodrow Ave, Suffolk, VA 23434 after burial.
