Obituary

Marquis T. Jones beloved, son, brother, nephew, uncle, left us on February 10, 2025, at the age of 51.  He was the eldest of three sons born to his mother, Mary Jones, and eldest of four sons of his now deceased biological father.

At the tender age of 12, Marquis accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior while attending New Life Church in Franklin, Virginia.  Along with his father, mother and brothers he later became a member of Love Center Family Church where he served and was apart of the Security, Youth,  Singles, Evangelism, Custodial and Men's Ministries.

He was an artist with a dream of being a Civil Engineer.  He earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Paul D. Camp Community College and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Old Dominion University.  After graduation, that dream became his reality when hired by Newport News Shipyard.  Marquis had a natural gift for creativity, in his spare time he enjoyed designing T-shirts, creating music, and expressing himself through drawing and painting.  His fashion creations often turned his body into his canvas, and he freely shared his artwork with others, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.  Marquis will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially by his family.

He leaves behind his loving father, Willie Jones, his devoted mother, Mary Jones, his bother Jamaal Jones, and sister-in-law, Michelle Jones; nieces, Mikyah, Gabriyel, and Jazmyn; his nephew Jamaal II; his brother, Arshad Jones, and nephew, Jacob; three brothers of his  biologicalndfather(deceased) two maternal uncles, two maternal aunts, one fraternal aunt, and a host of cousins, family and friends. May his memory live on in his art, his family and the countless lives he touched.
