Mr. Mark Edward Brown Sr. entered peacefully into eternal life on October 22, 2023, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. Mark was born to the late Ernest and Emma Lee Brown on September 13, 1966. He graduated from Sussex Central High School Class of 1984.

Mark was preceded in death by his late wife Hollis Brown, brother McCoy Brown, and sister Vernestine B. Taylor.

Mark was a faithful and dedicated member of Higher Way Ministries in Hampton, VA. Mark served as an armour bearer, usher, and on the praise and worship team. His hobbies were singing praises to God, traveling, and gardening.  He worked for many years at International Papers in Waverly, VA, Standard Motors in Prince George, VA, and he served as a security officer in Chester, VA.

Mark leaves to cherish his precious memory; two sons Mark Brown Jr. and Maurell Brown, and one daughter Martisha Brown all of Petersburg, VA. Three grandchildren Sakai Brown, Amiyah Brown, and A'Zara Watson. Five brothers; Ernest Brown Jr. (Ida) of Chesterfield, VA, Morris Brown, Earl Brown, and Wayne Brown of Waverly, VA, and Calvin Brown of Columbia, Missouri. Five sisters; Gwendolyn Harris (Donald) of Petersburg, VA, Faye Williams (Edward) of Bacliff, Texas, Martha Manley of Highland Springs, VA, and Emily Brown and Hope Brown of Waverly, VA. Three uncles; John Brown, James Brown (Deana) both of Baltimore, Maryland, and William Brown (Dorothy) of Petersburg, VA. Two aunts Muzell Musgrove (Silas) of Java, VA, and Dorothy Clark of Wakefield, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Friday, October 27, 2023, at Peace Funeral Home 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:30pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 38070 Rocky Hock Road, Wakefield,  Virginia, Pastor Rondell, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Browns Memorial Garden, Waverly, Virginia.
