Obituary

On April 11, 2018, our hearts were saddened by the sudden passing of Lewis "Cool Breeze" Goodwyn Jr. 77, of 633 Amherst Lane, Waverly, VA.  God saw he was grieving the loss of his loving wife Ethel Goodwyn, who passed on January 9, 2018, and took him home to be with her.  He was the son of the late Lewis Goodwyn Sr. and Viola Mason Goodwyn and was a native of Disputanta before moving to Waverly.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard Goodwyn(Fannie) and James Mason(Maggie); uncles Deacon Richard Goodwyn, David Goodwyn, Albert Goodwyn, Sylvester Goodwyn, William Mason, Robert Lane Mason, James Mason and Percy Mason; Aunts, Annie Lyons and Helen Hughes; Brother-in-law, John Hamlin; Mother-in-law, Ethel Hamlin; Father-in-law, Christmas Hamlin.

Lewis was a quiet and loving person, never complaining about anything.  He loved his sisters and always said "I got two sisters if one dies, I got another one but if I dies first, you won't have another brother."  He was an avid lover of baseball and wrestling and received his education in the Prince George County School System.  Before his health declined, he held many jobs in farming and logging.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Conslion Fields; grandson, Brian Fields; great granddaughter, Briana Fields; two sisters, who were the apples of his eye, Lucille Turner(Lindville) of Disputanta, VA and Linda Harper(Frank) of Baltimore, MD; three brothers-in-law, Jack Blow(Rosa), Richard Blow and Joseph Blow of PA, several nieces, devoted Sharon Coleman(James), Queen Turner, Sherita young; nephews, Lindville Turner Jr. and Frank Harper Jr.(Uyai); godchild, Ke'nia D. Anderson and numerous other relatives and friends.  Special thanks to his caregiver Judy Coleman, the Waverly Emts and Waverly Police Dept. especially, Officer Hayes and The Personal Touch Health.  The family can be reached at his sister's home. Lucille Turner, 11518 Hitchcock Rd, Disputanta, VA (804)991-2274.
