Kathryn Baines, 74, of Waverly, Virginia departed this life on March 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father Willie Baines, mother Katie L. Baines, brother John L. Baines, sisters Wille Mae Brown, Lucille B. Parker, and Nancy R. Harris.

She worked for many years with Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Company until she retired. Kathryn spent the majority of her adult life living in Boston Massachusetts, however, she still took time throughout many years to travel back and forth to Virginia to be amongst family.

Kathryn leaves to cherish her two aunts Virginia Brown and Francis Patterson; beloved brothers Walter Baines (Bennie) of Petersburg, Virginia, Lorenzo Baines of Carson, Virginia, Glenn Baines of Hopewell, Virginia, Donald Baines of Waverly, Virginia and Lenard Baines of Portsmouth, Virginia; and sister Margie Faulcon of Dewitt, Virginia; host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

During her stays in Virginia family would tell you she enjoyed cooking and singing, especially opera. Which she did throughout her adult life for some time.

Even though she has left us physically we will hold on to all the beautiful memories she left. The family would like to personally thank her great and devoted friends Jenny Mullins and Valerie Rhodes for always being only a call away and treating her like family. Also, to the healthcare providers in Massachusetts and Virginia, we thank you for all the care that you provided.

Public Viewing for Ms. Baines will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Friday, April 8, 2022, at Peace Funeral Home, Waverly, Virginia.

A Graveside Celebration of Life for Ms. Baines will be 12Noon Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Waverly Cemetery, Spring Branch Road, Waverly, Virginia.
