On November 10, 2018, at 3:45 p.m., our beloved Joyce Manning Hopkins, departed this life to be with our savior. Joyce was born on June 11, 1951. Joyce received Jesus as her Lord and Savior early in life. She was a member of Calvary Community Church of Wakefield, VA.  Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph, and Thelma Manning; Aunt Annie Jackson (Warren) and sister, Sandra Barrow (Walter-deceased). Joyce was employed by Masonite Corporation and Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center for a number of years. She was also a loyal employee of Phoenix n Peace Adult Care.

She is survived by five children, Malcolm Manning (Tracie) of Chester, VA, Glenniece Lindsey (Washington) and Carlos Hopkins (Belize) both of Macon, GA; Zack Hopkins (Charlotte) of Petersburg, VA, and Kelly Hopkins (Sherelle) of Alexandria, VA; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Glenice Smith and Constance Holloman (James) both of Chesapeake, VA, Terry Ellis (Rev. Audie) and Robin Johnson (Clyde) both of Waverly, VA; brothers, Kenneth Manning of Waverly, VA., Joseph Manning (Cora) of Chesapeake VA, Arthur Taylor (Dorothy) of Richmond, VA. and Donald Manning of Portland, OR; a devoted friend, Herman Williams; a devoted uncle, Warren Jackson, both of Waverly, VA.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Public viewing for Mrs. Hopkins will be 10:00am to 5:00pm Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Peace Funeral Home, and the Wake will follow at Empowerment Temple from 6:00pm to & 7:00pm.  Funeral Service for Mrs. Hopkins will be 12:00pm, Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Empowerment Temple, 219 County Drive Waverly, VA, Pastor Terrence Green, Pastor, Rev. Ardie Ellis, Eulogizing.  Interment will follow at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, VA.
