Mr. John Walter ("Junie") Price, of 924 Covington Court, Waverly, Va., entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 7, 1945, to the late Wallace L. Price Sr. and Mary Simms Price.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace Jr. and Larry; two sisters, Blanche and Irene.

John ("Junie") attended Sussex County Training School. He was employed with the Town of Waverly Sanitation Department for 21 years, until his health began to fail.

John is survived by: five sisters, Annie L. Stewart of Waverly, V., Helen O. Stephenson of Hampton, Va., Queen E. Smith of Waverly, Va., Mary V. Banks (James) of Hampton, Va., and Martha A. Barrow (Kenneth) of Waverly, Va.; one foster sister, Delores A. Williams of Waverly, Va.; one uncle, Walter Simms Sr. of Hampton, Va.; five nieces, Cheryl Teaques of New Jersey, Helene Collins (Eric) of Newport News, Va., Kim Crowell (Kevin), Kelley Baldwin (David) and Mary K. Price, all of Hampton, Va.; eight nephews, Sherman King (Melba) of Williamsburg, Va., Jerry King (Karen) of Newport News, Va., Leslie Bailey Jr. (Alphia) of Hampton, Va., Yusef Barr (Ondrea) of Dendron, Va., Randolph Barr (Sabina) of Atlanta, Dashun Barrow, Maurice Barrow and Lamont Barrow, all of Waverly, Va.; a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Price will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Liberty Baptist Church, Waverly, Va., with the Rev. Marshall, pastor, officiating and interment following in the Waverly Cemetery. Family may be contacted by calling 804-834-2219.
