Joanna Lavonne Stith entered eternal life on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Suffolk, Virginia January 31, 1974, to the late Jonas Russell Ricks Jr and Mary Christine Ricks.

Joanna attended Lakeland High School where she completed 12 ^th grade but went off to the Job Corp where she received her GED in Blueridge Tennessee. Joanna was an inspiration to everyone, and she always had a positive outlook on life.  She loved to read the bible, write and spend time with her children.

She was preceded in death by her father Jonas Russell Ricks Jr.

Joanna was a loving and devoted wife mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter.  To cherish her memories, she leaves her mother, Mary Christine Ricks; her loving husband of 25 years Marshall Stith; one son, Tiyae Stith; one daughter, Trameshia Eaton; three grandchildren, Xa'veyon Eaton, Atina Eaton, Dyren Eaton;  five siblings, Jonas Ricks III (Lisa), Tyrone Ricks (Chanda), Natasha Ricks, Monica Ricks, and Jocelyn Ricks; host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; mother-in-law, Louise Stith; five sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Peace Funeral Home 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia 23890.

A Celebration of Life will be 12Noon Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at First Baptist Church Wakefield, 217 County Drive, Wakefield, Virginia, Rev Jerry Parham, Pastor, and Rev Tyrone Ricks, Eulogist.  Interment will follow at Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield, Virginia.
