On Thursday, June 30, 2022, 4:30a.m. at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia God suddenly called home our dearly beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Jean was born and raised in Southampton County but a long-lived native of Sussex County. Jean Jones was born on August 8, 1949, to the late Norman and Marcel Turner.

She is preceded in death by her father, Norman G. Turner, mother, Marcel D. Turner, son Eugene Jones Jr., brothers, Joseph and Floyd Turner; sisters, Josephine Jones, Mary Garrison, Christine Clary, Norma Turner, Velma Turner, and Vivien Turner.

Jean leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband Eugene A. Jones Sr.; a son, Tyrone Jones and his devoted friend Shaqita;  one sister Willie Mae Elam; one brother, James Turner (Evelyn), one sister-in-law Margie Claiborne, two brothers-in-law, Charlie Moody and Jerome Jones(Tanika) six grandkids, one devoted granddaughter that she raised as her own Tynisha Crockett, Kaliqh Jones, Tykia Jones, Keith Winfield, Jacquell Robertson, and Syvion Bailey-Jones; four great-grandkids, Kamari Everett, Kamron Ellis, Syriya Meyers, and Jaiden Robertson; a host of nieces nephews cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Peace Funeral Home.

A Homegoing Celebration will be 1:00pm Friday, July 8, 2022, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 38070 Rocky Hock Rd, Wakefield, Virginia, Rev. Leslie Holloway, Pastor.
