Mr. Howard Taylor, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend departed his life on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center after a long journey of illness.  Howard was the fifth of ten children born to the late Walter and Pearl Taylor.

Howard was a person who was going to keep you laughing whenever you saw him and he was fun to be around.  Howard loved to go fishing and hang out with family and friends.  Howard loved the Washington Commanders.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Chiquita Ellis(Reychell Batts), three sisters, Pearlie Turner, Rose Tabb both of Waverly, VA and Cathelene Taylor for Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one uncle, Willie Jones(Margie) of Waverly, VA; seven nieces, Doris Taylor, Shamika Taylor, Lasheka Brown, Micole Taylor, Pamela Taylor, Denise, Jane and Cheryl Taylor; three nephews, Darryl Taylor, Deon Taylor, and Travis Williams; an host of relatives and friends, among them devoted friends, Curtis Taylor, William Hinton Jr., Mary Hairston, Jenny Hatch, The Clanton Family, Givon Blizzard, Patrick Judkins, Lorenzo Hatch, Shaquita Bailey and the Late Leon Johnson Sr. and Leroy Bird. He leaves many memories to cherish.  He will definitely be missed by all and Special thanks to the Staff at Bon Secours Hospital.

Herbert, we will miss you for sure and will forever remember your legacy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, August 16, 2025 at First Baptist Church 217 S. County Drive, Wakefield, Virginia, Rev. Jerry Parham, Pastor and Eulogist.  Interment will follow immediately at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Virginia.
