Gladys E. Byrd, age 92 died peaceful and quiet on March 17, 2015 in her home at 2929 Carsley Road, Dendron, VA. She is the widow of the late Norman Byrd.
Gladys Byrd leaves to mourn her nine children and grandson they reared; four sons, Norman Byrd, Thomas L. Byrd Sr. (Eva) of Dendron, VA, Dennis R. Byrd (Rosemary), Philadelphia, PA, Jesse J. Byrd of Dendron, VA; five daughters, Gloria B. Hamilton, South Chesterfield, VA, Doris B. Pierce, Lucy B. Shaw of Dendron, VA, Janice B. Pierce (James), Alice B. King (Patrick) of Surry, VA; grandson, Ernest W. Byrd (Sonya), Williamsburg, VA.
A Wake for Mrs. Byrd will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 6512 Carsley Road, Waverly, VA.
A celebration of life will be held 12 noon Monday, March 23, 2015 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 6512 Carsley Road, Waverly, VA (Surry Co), Rev Douglas F. Adams, Eulogizing. Burial will follow at The Byrd Cemetery, Dendron, VA.
