George "Ace"
Perry
December 5, 1952 – June 5, 2021
George James Perry JR entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 05, 2021, at Vibra Hospital in Henrico County. George James Perry Jr. was a resident of Waverly Va.
George James Perry Jr. also known as "Ace", Acey Cody, and DJ Master Funk in his earlier years of life. George James Perry Jr. was born on December 5, 1952, to the late Dr. Bishop George James Perry Sr., and Mother Ida Mae Perry.
George was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Bishop George James Perry Sr., and Ida Mae Perry, his brother Clinton Perry, his sister Laverne Perry, 2 nephews Brandon Perry and Anton Perry, and his two sons "Lil" George James Perry I, and "Poo Poo" Trenton James Perry.
George was a graduate of the Class of 1971, at Sussex Central High School. He was employed at Firestone for over 20 years of his life, Waste Management, and Hill Phoenix for several years until his health declined.
He had a love for music and boy could he go. Those hands would just magically take off on that keyboard, and organ and give life that would light the whole room up. Even from his DJ years, everyone was having a funky good time when he started to mix those records, scratch, and all that good ole stuff. But that Heavenly voice would just send chills down your spine. He also was an organist for Union Hill, Oakhill, and played for special occasions for churches family and friends. Ace was a mentor to many in the community.
He leaves to cherish his memories his three daughters, Zenetia Bradshaw (Glenn) of Suffolk VA, Nichelle Perry Hardee of Prince George VA, Treyanna Drew of Waverly VA; one son Javar Evans (Monique) of Chesapeake VA; he also raised, daughter Tenika Drew of Hopewell VA, and son Devontae Drew of Waverly VA; three sisters Windy Chambliss (Garland) of Dinwiddie VA, a devoted sister Sylvia Bell (Ronald) of Dinwiddie VA, and Vanessa Perry of Waverly VA; two brothers, Carlton Perry of Waverly VA, and Glenn Perry of Chesterfield VA; five grandchildren three of whom he cherished Ka'Myia Young, Amaya Evans and Canaan Evans, three great-grandchildren, one he cherished Legend Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will always be remembered for his love of others, loyalty, and his kind heart.
