Mr. George Jones (Mickey) our brother, uncle, cousin and friend went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2015, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, VA after a brief illness.

George Jones was born in Waverly, VA and the oldest of 10 kids. He was the son of the late Pearl and Walter Taylor. He worked for over 10 years o the farm for Mr. Calvin Wayne and Harold Chambliss.


He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted friend, Nancy Bailey of Disputana, VA; four sisters, Lucy Turner, Pearlie Turner (Rev. Fenton Turner), Rose Tabb (Mark) all of Waverly, VA, and Catherine Taylor of Petersburg, VA; two brothers, Howard Taylor and Richard Taylor both of Waverly, VA; three aunts, Mozella Graves, Mary Drew and Ora Murphy all of Waverly, VA; one uncle, Willie Jones Sr (Margaret) of Waverly, VA; eight nieces, Shamika, Lasheka, Denise, Jane, Doris, Micole, Cheryl and Pamela; three nephews, Darryl, Deon and Travis; devoted friends, Buck, John, Patrick, Leroy and Jerome Jones. A special thanks to Southside Regional Medical Center ICU Staff.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jones will be 2:00pm Thursday, April 30, 2015, First Baptist Church Wakefield, VA, Rev. Jerry Parham, Pastor, Eulogizing. Interment will follow at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, VA.
