Mr. Floyd R. Parker, 77, of Waverly, VA, departed this life on February 21, 2013. His wife, Emma Burgess Parker was by his side. During his long illness, he was cared for with unconditional love.

Floyd is preceded in death by his mother Lucy Parker, father John Parker, and sister Edith Mason. He retired from Virginia Department of Transportation in 1992 after 30 years of dedicated public service.

Those left to cherish with long memories are his devoted with of 54 years, Emma Burgess Parker; five daughters: Joyce Brown, Jean Byrd (Bryan), Brenda Wilkerson (Curtis), Melissa Taylor (John), Marcella Gildea (John); one son: Raymond Holsey (Carol); 6 grandchildren: Alfred Tucker Jr (Courtney), Brandon Wilkerson, Christopher Wilkerson, Briana Wilkerson, Patricia Hosley, and Jayda Byrd; niece and nephews: Ann Mason, Misclesar Mason (Donna), and Barnes Mason; 2 great nephews: Larry and Deranda Mason; 4 great grand children: Colby Tucker, Cassidy Tucker, Essence Wilkerson, and Cade Tucker, and a host of other relative and friends.

Funeral Services held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, 26, 2013 at Peace Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Waverly Cemetary, Waverly, Va.
