Farewell words were spoken and he gently entered "Home"

Mr. Eugene Albert Jones Sr. departed this earthly life on February 16, 2023, at Bon Secours Southside Regional Memorial Center, Petersburg, Virginia.  He was born on March 14, 1945, to the late Oscar Sr. and Hester Jones.

Eugene was known to most people as "Boosie" or "Brut". Boosie was baptized at an early age at Mt Hope Baptist Church.  He was employed at Wakefield Cold Storage, NW Railroad Company, and on the Farm.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, watching Westerns, and watching the Wakefield Braves Baseball Team.  Once his health began to fail he couldn't enjoy his hobbies as he did before but he continued to grow his garden.

Eugene "Boosie" was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Jones Sr.; mother, Hester Jones; wife, Jean Jones; son, Eugene "Ollie" Jones Jr.; brothers Oscar "Puddin" Jones, Herbert "NeNe" Jones, Lewis Jones, Ronnie B. Jones; and sister Shirley Crockett.

Eugene "Boosie" memories will be cherished by his loving son Tyrone Jones (Shaquita); sister, Margie Claiborne; brother Jerome Jones (Tanika), and Charlie Moody; six grandkids; Tynisha Crockett whom he raised as his daughter; Keith Winfield, Jacquel Robertson, Kaliqh Jones, Tykia Jones, and S'yvion Bailey-Jones; four great-grandkids Kamari Everett, Kamron Ellis, Syriya Myers, and Jaiden Robertson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am- 5:00pm  Friday, February 24, 2023, at Peace Funeral Home.

A Homegoing Celebration will be 12Noon Saturday, February 25, 2023, at First Baptist Church 217 South County Drive Wakefield, Virginia, Rev. Jerry Parham, Pastor.  Interment will follow at Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield, Virginia.
