On Friday, February 26, 2016, God in his infinite wisdom summoned our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle to transition from life on earth to eternal rest and peace at Southampton Hospital, Franklin, Va., surrounded by his family.

Ernest L. Barrow Jr. affectionately known as "Perk" was born March 12, 1974, to Ernest L. Sr. and Vallie C. Barrow. He was the second oldest of nine children, who will be missed very dearly. He attended Sussex Central High School and was employed through IES as a Certified Electrical Technician until his health failed.

Ernest was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. James Edward and Thelma Thomas; paternal grandparents, Mr. Theophilus and Louise Barrow; aunts; uncles; and devoted friend and cousin, Keith (Dick) Jackson.

Ernest (Perk) leaves to cherish his loving and devoted memories his parents, Ernest Sr. and Vallie C. Barrow; his children, ShaQuesha and Nikki Barrow, DyRon and Devion Turner and Autumn and Lucas Wallings; one precious granddaughter, Kamirah Claiborne; five loving and devoted brothers, Karlos (Stacie) Turner, Dwight, Joshua, Jonathan and Elias Barrow; three loving and devoted sisters, Carolyn Barrow, Candie (Johntae) Williams and Joanna Barrow; eight aunts; three uncles; three great-aunts; one great-uncle; one great-niece; one great-nephew; and a hosts of devoted cousins and friends.

A celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church, 315 Church Street, Waverly, Va., Elder Willie A. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery.
