Barrow Sr.
October 30, 1949 – June 11, 2023
On Sunday morning June 11, 2023, God called our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend Ernest L. Barrow Sr. home to eternal rest with family by his side.
Ernest affectionately known as "Head Barrow" was a fun, blunt and outgoing man. He loved having a good time with his family. His grandkids were his world. He always had a story to share to make you laugh or fuss. All his memories will live on through everyone that had the opportunity to encounter him. He will truly be missed. Ernest was educated in the Sussex County Public School System. He was employed at Masonite for several years.
Ernest Louis Barrow Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Theophilus and Thelma "Louise" Barrow, his son Ernest L. Barrow Jr., five brothers, and three sisters.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife Vallie C. Barrow; five sons, Karlos Turner(Stacie) of Prince George, Dwight Barrow(Tracy) of Chester, Joshua Barrow(Sherrica) of Stony Creek, Jonathan Barrow, and Elias Barrow of Waverly; three daughters, Carolyn Barrow, Candie Williams(Johntae) of Waverly, and JoAnna Barrow of Hawaii; twenty-five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Rogers of Richmond, Shirley Turner(Willie) and Annette Cole; one brother, Kenneth Barrow all of Waverly; five sisters-in-law, Rebecca Bates of Waverly, Brenda Woodson of Williamsburg, Jannie Ellis of Waverly, Sylvia Thomas of Hopewell, and Greta Jones(Thomas) of Waverly; one brother-in-law, James E. Thomas of Waverly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other devoted relatives and special friends.
Public Viewing will be 10:00am-5:00pm Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Peace Funeral Home, Waverly, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00pm Monday, June 19, 2023, at Lily of the Valley Deliverance Center, Waverly, Virginia, Bishop Marvin Drew Sr., Pastor and Eulogist.
