Elvira Delores Ruffin 85, of 35 Queensway Lane, Spring Grove, VA went home to Glory, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, VA.

Elvira Ruffin was the daughter of the late Clairborne Norman and Sallie Mae Cooke was born in Spring Grove, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Webster Luther Ruffin, five sisters, Pearlie J. White, Helen Fletcher, Rose Spratley, Betty Jean and Merlene Cooke.

Mrs. Ruffin leaves to cherish her memories: seven sons, Ralph Ruffin (Evelyn), Alvin Ruffin, George Ruffin, Melvin Ruffin(Zulean), James Ruffin(Garnette), Charles Ruffin(Roxanne) and Kelvin Ruffin(Virginia); five daughters, Doreatha Robertson(George), Betty Howard, Helen Collier(Lorenza), Elvira Boyd(Eddie), and Cynthia Ruffin; one sister, Daisy Bailey(Ralph); one brother, Claiborne Cooke(Rosemary); one sister-in-law, Dorethia Newby, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren , relatives, friends and a devoted friend and caregiver Michelle Uzzle.

Funeral service for Mrs. Ruffin will be 11:00am Friday, December 22, 2017 at Zion Apostolic Christian Memorial Temple, 1601 South Young Road, Petersburg, VA.
