On Friday, Junes 23, 2017, God called His angel, Evangelist Doris Garrett Boyd from 7165 Leneave Lane, Waverly, VA, and said it's time to leave your earthly home and come go with me to a better place, no more aches and pains, nothing but sunshine and joy daily.

Doris was born to the late Percy and Rosa Garrett on June 15, 1955 in Waverly, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Boyd, two brothers Charles and Ronnie Garrett.

She has been a lifetime resident of Waverly, where she attended and graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1976. Doris found the Lord at an early age. She was a former member of First Baptist Church Waverly. She continued serving the Lord under the leadership of Elder Isaac Holmes, at New Apostolic Church in Hopewell, VA, where she was a Missionary, and Praise and Worship Leader. She served wherever God called her. Evangelist Boyd loved the Lord and she showed it.

She is survived by one child Eric L. Garrett (Sandy); two sisters, Deaconess Susie G. Thomas (Deacon Vincent), and Rosa Garrett; three brothers, William Garrett, Larry Garrett (Telena) and Percy Garrett III, all of Waverly, VA; she was blessed with three grandchildren, Brianna Evans of Florida, Brittany Fuller and Jaebon Garrett of Prince George, VA; three aunts and one uncle.

We the family of Doris "Bun" Boyd would like to thank you for all your acts of kindness. Thanks to her friend and caregiver Annette Cole. We thank all the friends and family that touched her life, Mrs. L. Taylor and Elvira. There were many others, too many to name, we Love and Thank you all.

Funeral service for Evangelist Boyd will be 1:00pm. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Lily of the Valley Deliverance Center, 415 Oak Street, Waverly, VA. Interment will follow at Waverly Cemetery.
