Obituary

Mr. David Bolling (77), of 223 Locust Drive, Waverly, VA departed this life on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Waverly Rehabilitation Center, leaving behind countless broken hearts. He was the son of the late Mr. Claude and Vallie Bolling of Waverly, VA. He was proceeded in death by his twelve siblings Llyod, Claude, Fred Lee, Ernest Lee, Clifton, Thomas, James, Floyd, Louise, Rosa Lee, Thelma, Helen, and three brothers-in-law Mr. William Parker, Melvin Bolden, and John Bolden.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a dedicated usher.  David was a hard-working and dedicated employee of Masonite formally known as International Paper.  He retired after serving 35 years of service. After retirement, he occupied his time working for The Town of Waverly and Sussex County Public Schools until his health declined. He was a loving and fun husband, uncle, brother, friend, neighbor, father, cousin, and even better grandfather. His ultimate joy was working and staying active. David could be seen often cutting grass, especially for those who were sick and shut-in, playing horseshoes, going to ball games, doing maintenance work, and just being a jack of all trades. He was a former member of SCYMAC Park & Young Men's Social Club. David was also a TRUE DIE-HARD Dallas Cowboy fan.

David is survived by his loving family and friends who will miss him deeply. He leaves to cherish his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Virginia Bolling; two children, Mr. David Bolling Jr. (Denise) of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Monica Bradley (Timothy) of Prince George, VA; three grandchildren Ja'Keeta Coleman-Parham (Donnell), Robin Coleman and William Coleman all of Prince George, VA.; three great-grandchildren Brandon Bolling, Nia'Asia & Amaziah Coleman; two sisters Ms. Lucy Thomas and Deaconess Addie Parham; special neighbor Gene Bolden; three sisters-in-law Mrs. Geneva Monroe, Mrs. Shirley Smith, and Mrs. Ersell Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

David was a God-fearing man who was committed to his family, friends, neighbors, his work, and whomever he came in contact with that needed help, even though he would add a touch of fussing. Mrs. Virginia Bolling would like to express special thanks to devoted relatives Deaconess Arlene Perry, Ms. Rachel Barrow, Deaconess Audrey Bain, Ms. Dadarika Davis, Ms. Gene Bolden, and devoted friends Mr. Alvin Graves, Ms. Geraldine Boling, and Mr. John Greene. David will be missed by many and will always be known for the coins jingling in his pockets.

We, the family of the late Mr. David Bolling, wish to express our sincere appreciation for all acts of kindness, love, and support shown during the loss of our beloved one. Your thoughtfulness has been greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the staff of Bon Secour Southside Regional Hospital, Virginia Cancer Institute & Hospice Inc., and Waverly Rehabilitation Center.
