Darlene M. Butler was born to the proud parents of Laura Butler and James Hansley on October 29, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York whom both preceded her in death.

She received her early education in Brooklyn, New York with her Sister Diane Butler-Davis then went on to complete her high school education in Philadelphia, PA with her Aunt LaReine Richardson. Darlene left Philadelphia and came to live in Waverly, Virginia.

Darlene married in 1998 to Edwin Harris and from that union, three boys were born.

She took on many jobs starting with Personal Touch, Golden Touch, and Health South, all as a Home Health Aide which was her passion.

Darlene was a very loving person who took in other people's children and treated them as her own. She deeply enjoyed her grandchildren. Darlene also liked Music (all kinds), Partying, and going to Church.

On October 4 ^th , 2022, God saw that the road was getting rough and the mountain was too high to climb. He gently closed the curtain and whispered, "Peace Be Thine"

Darlene has touched and enlightened the lives of many, among those are four sons-Robert, Michael, Kevin, Amon, and others she called her sons; grandchildren-A'ziyah, Sh'umuhd, Kane, Maddisyn, Makiya, Cherrish, TaShauna (chicken wing), Legend, Royal, and Isis;  two sisters, Muriel Thompson, and Diane Davis; on her father's side, three sisters, and three brothers;  a host of aunts, uncles, Nieces, Sharean, Tamika, Kendra, Brittney, and Desiree';  nephews, Big Robert, Derrick, Jarrett, and Kary;  host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, Lisa, Darlene Walker, Tamika Harris, Shameka Boyd, and Her Church family.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00p Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Lily of the Valley Deliverance Center, 411 Oak Street, Waverly, Virginia, Bishop Marvin Drew Sr. Pastor.  Interment will follow immediately at Waverly Cemetery, Spring Branch Road, Waverly, Virginia.

Public Viewing will be 12Noon - 1:00pm Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Lily of the Valley Deliverance Center.
