Mr. Curvey Ezelle Cooper Sr of Sussex County departed this life on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the residence of his granddaughter Tomeka.

He was born July 12, 1931 to the late Luke and Novella Cooper.  At an early age he was baptized and became a member of Union Hill U.C.C. Sedley, Virginia.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his devoted wife Ruth Cooper, his parents Luke and Novella Cooper; three sisters, Henrietta Drew, Margaret Kea, and Leona Brown; three brothers, Aaron, Theodore and Matthew Cooper, and granddaughter, Tiisha Cooper.

He leaves to cherish his memories five children, Peggie Lowery (Marvin), Curvey E. Cooper Jr. (Ardel), Arleen Cooper, Yvonne Moore (Andre,) and Farrukh Azhar (Luke); 14 grandchildren, 2 of whom were devoted Tomeka and Rahmun; 51 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Special thanks to "His Tomeka" (which is what he called her,) who made his last days his best.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Cooper will be 11:00am Friday, March 28, 2025 ,at Easter Baptist Church, 13454 Jerusalem Plank Road, Waverly, Virginia, Rev. Joseph Williams, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Christian Church Cemetery, Jerusalem Plank Road, Waverly, Virginia.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Peace Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Avenue Waverly, Virginia.
