Corine Daisy Stringfield Coy was born on August 26, 1931, and departed this life on March 21, 2026.  She was born to the late Vanderbilt and Bernice Stringfield.  Corine was educated in the Wakefield, Virginia School System.  She was a well-known housekeeper in the Wakefield, Virginia, and Richmond, Virginia, areas.

Corine married Albert Leslie Coy.  Their union was blessed with seven children, three boys and four girls.  Corine Coy was a devoted wife and mother.  She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Albert Leslie Coy, Jr., her brother, Thomas Stringfield, and her sister, Lulla Holloway.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.   She was baptized and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.  She loved flowers of all types.  On any given day, she would be found outside planting, watering, or simply admiring her flowers.  Corine also had a special compassion for animals, often taking in sick cats and nursing them back to health. Under her care, they would thrive so remarkably that others would often express interest in adopting them.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  children: Elaine Stringfield of  Richmond, VA, Gail E. Coy of Chesterfield VA, Cassandra A. Baker (Archie) of Henrico VA, Joseph A. Coy (Angela) of Chesterfield VA, Jeannie A. Diggs (Milton) of Sedley VA, and Roger L. Coy of Chesterfield VA; siblings:  Bobby Stringfield (Janice) of Wakefield VA, Earnestine Harris of Dendron VA, Eva Kearney (James) of Newport News VA, Calvin Stringfield of Wakefield VA, and Gloria Jean Faltz (Ronnie) of Wakefield; sister-in-love Nancy Stringfield; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; thirteen nieces; six nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00am Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 38070 Rocky Hock Road, Wakefield, Virginia, Reverend Melvin Lyttle, Jr, Pastor, Pastor Jerry Stringfield of Elohim Christian Outreach Center, Eulogist.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Friday, March 27, 2026 at Peace Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia.
