Obituary

Clyde Jones "Wiggie" entered his Heavenly Rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 6:30am at his residence.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, the late Julia and Eddie Jones Sr.; his sisters, Jacqueline Womack, Julia Burchett, Juanita Jones, and Marjorie Parham; and his brother, Eddie Jones Jr.

Clyde worked numerous jobs to include Newport News Shipbuilding, Waverly Lumber Company, and Gerdau Steel Mill, where he retired. He played baseball with the Waverly Warriors for years. He loved fishing and did lawn care, but cooking was his favorite thing to do, you could barely get into the house before he would go into the kitchen and start cooking.

Clyde attended Cornerstone Ministries until his health declined under the direction of Reverend Horace Jones.

Clyde is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Letitia Jones of Petersburg, VA; daughters, Tinesha Jones of Petersburg, VA, Twala Massenburg of Spotsylvania, VA, Ebony and LaToya Hill of Petersburg, VA; son, Derek Jones (LaKrishna) of Florida; grandchildren, Lhyra, Kayla, Kamala, Zion, Zynique, Rahjuana, Rahnesha, Demario; great-grandchild, Rymir; goddaughter, Iris Taylor of Petersburg, VA; sisters, Sheila Jones of Waverly, VA, Rosemary Jones of Norfolk, VA and Bobbie Wilkins of Maryland; brother, Reverend Horace Jones (Sylvia) of Petersburg, VA; sisters-in-law, Faybell Jones, Audrey Jackson, Linda Gray, First Lady Sylvia Jones; brother-in-law, William Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, devoted friends, Samuel Jones, William Ricks and Lewis Parker; and the love of his life granddaughter Zynique Hill.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Wakefield, Virginia, Rev. Dr. Jerry Parham, Pastor.

Public Viewing will be 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Peace Funeral Home, Waverly, Virginia.
