On Monday, November 25, 2019, Clevon Jeffers entered eternal rest in Kingston, North Carolina. Mr. Clevon Jeffers was known to some as Cleaven was born February 13, 1952, in Craven County, North Carolina to the late Frank and Mary Mabry.  He was later adopted by Richard Jeffers and Pearlie Mae Sanders Dillahunt.  Clevon received his education in the Surry County Public Schools. Clevon worked faithfully at Newport News Shipyard for 19 years, then retired and returned to North Carolina to care for his ailing mother.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age. He attended St. Paul's Holiness Church, Dendron, Virginia, where he was licensed as a minister. Later he became assistant to the pastor at First Baptist Church in Dendron Va. Until he was elected to serve as the Pastor of Old Oak Grove Baptist Church Wakefield, Virginia.

Clevon was preceded in death by his son, Maurice Jeffers, a brother John Henry Mabry, a sister Vera West, and his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memories three children, Stephanie Burrell (Craig) of Newport News, VA, Cleaven Jeffers Jr. (Malena) of Petersburg, VA and Barry Jeffers of Petersburg, VA; nine grandchildren, Portia E. Greene (Brandon), Kendrick Butts (Destiny), Trenten Butts (Angel), Shemar Butts (Nicole), Parris P. Jeffers, Unique Jeffers, Cleaven Jeffers III, Ja'Kayla Twine and Jayden Twine;  four great-grandchildren, She'miya Addison, Jayden Ricks, Tristian Bailey, Trenten Butts Jr.; six sisters, Maggie (Albert) Cox, Earlene Carr, Sudie Strickland (late Vannie), Christartina Rosenboro, Allie Gray (Rodney) Kornegay and Lessie Mabry; five brothers, Gene (Carol) Price, Joseph (late Annette) Mabry, Raymond (Ida). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, a special devoted friend, Barbara Wilkes of Greenville, NC.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Jeffers will be 11:00am Saturday, December 7, 2019, at St. Paul's Holiness Church, 8645 Rolfe Hwy, Dendron, VA, Rev. Welton Blount, Pastor, Pastor Shonna Wilkerson, Eulogizing.  Interment will follow at Booker T. Memorial Cemetery, Wakefield, VA.
