Mr. Clarence Lee Stringfield Sr., 77, of 407 Bank Street, Waverly, Va., was called from labor to reward early Saturday morning, November 21, 2015, at his home.

He was born in Surry County, Va., on July 17, 1938, to the late Early Stringfield Sr. and Daisy Stringfield. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Horace Stringfield and Early Stringfield Jr.; his sister, Estelle Gay; and his daughter, Barbara Perry.

He was a dedicated employee as a driver for the Jackson Bus Service for 18 years and a painter for the Newport News Shipbuilding for over 40 years.

Clarence was a devoted and faithful member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wakefield, Va., until his health declined.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, the mother of his children, Mildred Stringfield; five loving and devoted daughters, Patricia Brown (Allen) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Shirley Reese (Nathan) of Chesterfield, Earnestine Minor (Reginald) of Chesterfield, Debbie Hargrove (Immanuel) of Henrico, and Demetress Stringfield of Chesterfield; three devoted sons, Clarence Stringfield Jr. (Roselyn) of Newport News, Carl Stringfield Sr. of Chesterfield and Overseer Ronnie Stringfield Sr. (DeAndria) of Buford, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, a devoted grandson, Derrick Perry (Chinyere); and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Bolie Stringfield of Wakefield; four sisters, Dorothy Harrell of Williamsburg, Daisy Pierce and Elsie Robertson of Smithfield, and Mary Eliza Winn (James) of Wakefield; two aunts, Elizabeth Felts of Nyack, N.J., and Pearene Urquhart of Waverly; one sister-in-law, Clara Stringfield of Wakefield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 38070 Rocky Hock Road, Wakefield, Va. Interment will follow at the Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield, Va.
