Carol "Brenda" Clayborne Clark, 71, was born on September 29, 1951, in Wakefield, Virginia, to the late Byrd and Julia Clayborne. She went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2023.

She graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1969 and later graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College with a degree in business. She worked at the Newport News Shipyard as a Medical Records Supervisor and retired in 2014 after 33 years of service.

She joined New Branch Baptist Church in Ivor, Virginia, where she was a faithful member for over 40 years. She served the Lord and New Branch in different ministries over the years. She was a member of the New Branch Mass Choir. She worked as the church secretary, a part of the Deaconess ministry, a part of the missionaries, pastor's aide committee, and a former church treasurer and church clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Byrd and Julia Clayborne, as well as her sister, Alice Clayborne; three brothers, Cornell Clayborne, John Clayborne, Sr., and Byrd Clayborne, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Eloise Holloway.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 52 years, Earl Clark, Sr.; two children, Jennifer Jones (Stanley III) Jones of Wakefield, VA, and Earl Clark, Jr.; brother, Lorenzo (Ida) Clayborne of Wakefield, VA; three brothers-in-law, Robert Clark, Sr., of Stafford, VA, Thomas Jones, and James Woodard; four grandchildren, Trevion Hamlin of Hagerstown, MD, Nia Clark of Wakefield, VA, Schardai Clark of Hopewell, VA, and Imir Clark of Ivor, VA; and two special friends, Viola Brown and Elizabeth Judkins.

A Celebration of Life will be 12Noon Saturday, June 10, 2023, at New Branch Baptist Church 8140 Proctors Bridge Road, Ivor, Virginia, Rev. Frank Aikens, Pastor.

Public Viewing will be Friday June 9, 2023 at Peace Funeral Home 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
