Reverend Dr. Calvin "Koolaid" Coolidge Crocker Jr., 58 of Petersburg, VA, departed this life into eternal rest on Monday Morning May 26, 2014 at his residence in Petersburg, VA.
He was born January 1, 1956 in Sussex County, VA to the late Calvin Crocker Sr. and Inez Bain Crocker Stith.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Bernard Stith.
He graduated from Sussex Central High and is a Veteran of the U. S. Army. Calvin confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mars Hill A.M.E. Zion Church. He was ordained into the Ministry under the Pastorship of the late Rev. E. L. Forbes and was Associate Pastor of Mars Hill A.M.E. Zion Church until he received his first Pastor Assignment of the Virginia Conference to the Red Oak Groves A.M.E. Zion Church, Norfolk District. He was also assigned to the A.M.E. Zion Tennessee Conference. Rev Crocker was ordained to the Baptist, serving as Pastor of the Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, Dewitt, VA and the Missionary Baptist Church, Durham, NC until his health failed.
Rev Crocker leaves to cherish and celebrate his precious memories: a daughter, Calshirshawnde Richerson (Stanley) Atlanta, GA; a son, Quay Crocker , Courtland, VA; two sisters, Marsha Stith and Sharon Wynn, Wakefield, VA; one brother, Floyd Johnson, Richmond, VA; step-father, Bernard Stith, Wakefield, VA; one uncle, Linwood Crocker (Orris), Wakefield, VA; one god-son, Wyshawn Wynn, Wakefield, VA; two grandchildren, loving and devoted cousin, Helena Clary, Wakefield, VA; Best Friend, Rev. Geter, Petersburg, VA; and a host of step-sisters, step-brothers, caring cousins, relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for Rev. Dr. Crocker will be 11:00am, Friday, May 30, 2014, at Mars Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Wakefield, VA, Rev. Kenneth Zollicoffer, Pastor, Officiating. Interment will follow at Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
