Obituary

Byrd Clayborne, Jr. peacefully transitioned to be with The Lord on Monday, March 6, 2023. He was born on August 3, 1947 in Wakefield, VA to the late Byrd Clayborne, Sr. and Julia Giddis Clayborne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Alice Clayborne, brothers Johnny Clabourne Sr. and Cornell Clayborne. Byrd was educated at Sussex Central High School. He worked as a truck driver with Abilene Motor Express for several years.

Even though Byrd loved trucking on the highways, his true love was for motorcycles. He was a member of The Friendly Riders Motorcycle Club of Sedley, VA. He took to the road with his motorcycle to Ft. Pierce, FL and even drove to Kansas City, KS.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his son, James Clayborne (Sherri) of Chesapeake, VA, his daughters, Anastasia McGowan (Don) of Utica, MS, Felecia McClellan (Kenzell) of New Braunfels, TX, a brother, Lorenzo Clayborne (Ida), a sister, Carol Clark (Earl) all of Wakefield, VA, two sisters-in-law, Gerri Claybourne of Sierra Vista, AZ and Harriett Clayborne of Wakefield, VA, dear friend Mary Crawley of Hopewell, VA, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends that Byrd loved dearly.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm Friday, March 10, 2023 at Peace Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia.

Funeral Service will be 12Noon Saturday, March, 11, 2023 at Peace Funeral Home Chapel, 237 Railroad Avenue, Waverly, Virginia, Rev Betty Clary, Eulogist.
