February 4, 1970 – November 14, 2017
Antonio Terrell Green, affectionately known as "AC", of 534 Moore Street, Waverly, entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord on November 14, 2017. Antonio was born on February 4, 1970 in Richmond, Virginia to James L. and Vivian J. Green. He was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Lorraine Birchett, maternal grandparents, Eddie Birchett Sr. and Mary Birchett, and paternal grandparents, James P. Green and Elsie Mae Perry Green.
Antonio was a 1988 graduate of Sussex Central High School, Sussex, Virginia. There he was an advanced student athlete. He was a basketball player and excelled as a track star, competing in the 400-meter dash and high jump. Antonio was also a member of the Chess Club. After completing high school, he matriculated at Virginia State University where he was a member of the ROTC program, which led him to join the US Army National Guard. He served for several years and was honorably discharged. Antonio took pride in being an Army veteran. He received his Associate's degree in Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technology from Louisville Technical Institute in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. He had a plethora of experience in the workforce and was most recently employed at Perdue in Prince George, Virginia. Antonio was an electrician by trade and was well known for providing a vast array of services in the community. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and rededicated his life to Christ at Empowerment Temple Ministries on August 8, 2010 under the leadership of his very own brother, Pastor Terrence L. Green, Sr.
Antonio was full of life and always kept a smile on his face. He had a swag like no other because of his personality and way with words. He would drop knowledge on you. His personality captivated anyone who came in his presence and he was a fun and free spirited, the life of the party. He loved to dance and those who knew him well knew that he could dance. Antonio had a special love for his children and family and that love will be cherished forever.
He leaves to carry on his legacy two daughters, Shakeen Croker of Suffolk, and Keyera Murphy (devoted) of Prince George; one son, Khalil Green of Dinwiddie; two grandsons, Jordan Croker of Suffolk and TayVionce Murphy of Prince George; his parents, James L. Green (Lisa) of Copperas Cove, Texas and Vivian J. Green of Waverly; two brothers, Pastor Terrence Green, Sr. (Tanisha) of Waverly and Pastor Troy Nevells (Diane) of Providence, North Carolina; three nieces, Tayjah Green, Tanea Green and Gabrielle Nevells; two nephews, Terrence Green, Jr., and Miguel Nevells; four aunts, Vivian C. Green of Waverly, Beatrice J. Parham of Goodyear, Arizona, Marion B. Graves of Greenville, North Carolina, Brenda Taylor (Charlie) of Disputanta; one uncle, Eddie Birchett, Jr. of Petersburg; two great aunts, Ellen Dugger of Washington D.C. and Vernell Gresham of Richmond, Virginia; one devoted cousin who was his main man and more like a brother Edward Lee Birchett of Waverly; lifelong friends, Calvin Bivens, Charles Faltz, Bobby Givens, Corey Hamlin, Alvin Jones, Henry Lewis Jr., and Roy Lee Murphy; a host of cousins and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Empowerment Temple Ministries in Waverly, Virginia at 1:00 p.m., Elder Terrence L. Green, Sr. Pastor, Bishop Shawn Lewis (Rhema Word Ministries, Petersburg, Va.) Eulogist, Bishop Tyrone R. Harper, Sr. Officiant. Public viewing will be Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 10:00am – 3:00pm and 4:00pm -7:00pm at Empowerment Temple Ministries. In lieu of floral contributions, the family is requesting houseplants as Antonio will have a military style burial.
