Ms. Annie Mae Turner departed this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in her hometown of Waverly, Virginia. Annie Mae as she was affectionately known by her friends and family was known for her "Smack Talking and Fun-Loving Personality".
She was born on May 5, 1945, to the Late Gus H. Taylor and Essie Turner Taylor in Waverly, Virginia.
Ms. Turner was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary T. White, Roxanne Lewis, Mary T. Jones, Alice L. Taylor, and her only brother James Robinson Jr.
Ms. Turner was a former employee of Waverly Healthcare Center for many years until her health began to decline. She worked at Cowlings Barbeque for many years prior to working at Waverly Healthcare.
Annie Mae leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Patricia Shaw (Barry) of Surry, Virginia, and Kelley T. Fowler of Chesterfield, Virginia; one sister, Cora M David (Edmund) of Manhattan, New York; six grandchildren, Shadiera F. Bell (Charles), Ladiera M. Fowler, LaQuanda T. Ford (Josiah), Lakeisha S. Thomas (Claude), QuaVon T. Flowers, and Quadaija L. Mell; nephews Marvin Robinson Jr. (Keyona), Carlton L. Turner (Evelyn), Randy Taylor, Rodney O. Jones; nieces, Linda T. Heckstall of New York, Chandra F. Allen (Andre) of Maryland, and Linda L. Bagley (Clarence) of Newport News, Virginia; eight great-grandchildren, Dyimaurei Stith, A'siah Ford, Makenzie Fowler, Cai Bell, Caleb Bell, Zyaira Flowers, Zariya Flowers, and Isaiah Thomas, and a host of family and lifelong friends too numerous to name.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00pm Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Peace Funeral Home Chapel, Bishop Marvin Drew Sr. Eulogist,
