Mrs. Alisha Jones of Waverly, Virginia entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia.

Alisha grew up in Jamaica Queens, New York where she was known for being a very warm and endearing young person with a big heart.  She grew up in church under the tutelage of her parents and enjoyed leading Worship at he Father's Church with her sisters.  In school, she maintained a high GPA and participated in sports such as gymnastics. In 1984, she had her daughter and although being a young mother, she graduated from high school, worked at Queens Central Hospital, and became a member of the NYPD.

Alisha moved to Waverly, Virginia, in 1991 and quickly became active in the community, visiting churches and working with the elderly, sick and shut-in as a CNA for many years.  She became a member of the Empowerment Temple Ministries in 2008, where she faithfully attended.  Her unwavering faith was a guiding light to her family and community, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Alisha will be remembered for her love of Family, her dedication to her faith, and her endless kindness to others.  Her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Alisha was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Thomas Smith and Elder Lura Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Therman Jones; daughters, Desiree and Aneesha, bonus mom, the Lovely, Mildred Smith, sisters, Barbara, Tausha, Valerie, Trekita, and Tonya; her grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.

Public Viewing will be 10:00am - 5:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Peace Funeral Home, Waverly, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Empowerment Temple Ministries, 219 North County Drive, Waverly, Virginia 23890, Elder Terrence Green Sr., Pastor.
